If a life event is already registered in Hungary, you can ask for a copy of the Hungarian birth/marriage/death certificate at the Consulate. The certificate is trilingual (Hungarian, English and French).
How to apply
The application has to be submitted in person. Appointments shall be scheduled using our online booking system. For appointment, please select “Obtaining Hungarian certificates”.
What documents do I need to take with me?
Please bring your valid passport/ID card for the application. In case of a non-own document it is necessary to present the document on which the application is based (e.g. certificate of relationship, a record of pending dispute, etc.).
How much does it cost?
The service is free of charge.
